| | Having a small 1024x768 display I have been looking for a browser that wastes minimal space. Internet Explorer 6 was OK, having the possibility to stack menues, buttons and bars on one line, but then came Internet Explorer 7 :-( (screenshots here)So I started to look at Firefox, and quickly discovered the "userChrome.css" file... And here is the result on Firefox 3: |

If you don't like my "one-line" URL-bar dropdown you can change back to "two-line" in the userChrome.css (just change some comments).
If the FF3 bookmarks are not showing in the sidebar (only "Unsorted Bookmarks" at the top) do as follows to expand the bookmarks:
1: Click "Unsorted Bookmarks" (or whatever at the top line), 2: Press "up arrow" (cursor up), 3: Press "right arrow" (cursor right).
The userChrome.css also work with Firefox 2 (screenshot below) and I keep updating it to work with all Firefox 3.x and 3.7 pre-releases.

First, if you don't allready use Firefox, follow this link to read info and download the latest version: Firefox download
Before you apply this tweak: Change to small icons, move all buttons/menus/fields to the "Menu bar", close the "Navigation bar"
Make sure the "Stop" and "Reload" buttons are in that order ("Stop" first, then "Reload)", else they will not merge into one button
Then "right-click" this link and "Save link as..." to download the "userChrome.css" for the layout above: userChrome.css
Save to: c:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile-id>.default\chrome\
Then "right-click" this link and "Save link as..." to download the "user.js" file with some speed tweaks: user.js
Save to: c:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile-id>.default\
I have also made a search page that can search with 4 search engines at once. Click on the link to add MultiSearch
To run IE dependant code inside Firefox, like in the example above, you also need to install the Coral IE Tab extension
If you are tired of all those ads messing up pages and taking bandwidth I recommend the free ads-filter WebWasher
